Anna had a quiet night. We hope she continues to have a couple of quiet days of rest. The doctor may put a filter on the ECMO that will allow them to drain some fluids off more easily. The upside is the lungs can be cleared out. The downside is that the kidneys may decide "hey! I don't have to work anymore, so I'm gonna just shut down! Goodbye!" So, as is the case with a lot of things medical, the benefits of something are weighed against the downfalls too. So we'll see if they do that or not.
Alissa and I are kind of numb. However, Isaac is here to visit us today! As I watch him spin around and just enjoy being a boy, I am energized in a way that I didn't think I could be. Praise God for our little boy! He is a sweetheart, and we have both missed him much. Thank you to our family and friends for keeping him safe and whole while we try and concentrate our parenting on Anna.
Speaking of, let's get back to the star of the show, shall we? Anna still has lots of complications. We are still waiting on God to move, trusting that He can. Or maybe He already is, and we just can't see it yet.
Thank you for the update! I have been thinking of all of you all night and I was eager to hear that she was pressing on. Enjoy your time with your sweet boy and rest as much as you can- Anna is going to need you! Our thoughts and prayers are with you!
ReplyDeleteStill praying for you guys all the way from Honduras, C.A. , amazed and moved at your strength and faith , God is in control , may his will b done , keep up the faith! Blessings to you and your family .
ReplyDeleteWe are blessed by your blog continually! Day and night we remember you in our prayers, though we don't know you, but we feel like we do! As you have shared so many times, God is able to do a great miracle and raise little Anna up, and that is what we pray for. We know also that He is able to comfort your hearts beyond what we can think, and we pray He will do that in this time, and give you constant strength and courage and Hope in His love. With much concern and hope for your hearts desire to be given you by our wonderful caring Lord, Your brother and sister in Christ, Brendan and Sarah Booher
ReplyDeletePraying 4 U!!! Hoping things work out okay. Youth group praying too! Continue to have faith even in the darkest times. Read the Psalms, yo!! Peace and Love.
ReplyDeleteGod is definitely moving. He has moved a multitude of people around the world to care so deeply for Anna that a tidal wave of prayer is continually going out for your little girl. Many times though, it's when we look back that we see God's fingerprints on a situation. God loves to show His power in so many different ways...sometimes through doctors and sometimes when it's obvious that the miracles were through ONLY His power. Sometimes the miracle is gradually and sometimes it's obvious right away. Praying like crazy for you guys. May God's presence continually wrap you in His arms.
ReplyDeletePraying for little Anna Joy!! I am so moved by her journey and pray for God to heal her. Best wishes - Karisa from Spokane WA.
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray!
ReplyDeleteI agree God is moving. I can see the army behind you just lifting you and sweet Anna Joy up in prayer. She is the first person I prayed for as I woke up today with outstretched arms to heaven. Praying continually for a miracle where He receives all the glory. Hold fast to HIS TRUE AND UNCHANGING WORD!
ReplyDeleteI second the things shared, God is moving, know you are prayed for many times during the day as well as night. Anna as well as the rest of your family are prayed for as God wakes me from my sleep you immediately come to mind. Will continue. Blessings on you
ReplyDeleteMade me think of you guys.
ReplyDelete"None But Jesus" by Hillsong United
In the quiet, in the stillness
I know that you are God
In the secret of your presence
I know there I am restored
When you call I won't refuse
Each new day, again I'll choose
There is no one else for me
None but Jesus
Crucified to set me free
Now I live to bring Him praise
In the chaos, in confusion
I know you're sovereign still
In the moment of my weakness
You give me grace to do your will
When you call I won't delay
This my song through all my days
There is no one else for me
None but Jesus
Crucified to set me free
Now I live to bring Him praise
I am yours and you are mine...
All my delight is in you Lord
All of my hope
All of my strength
All my delight is in you Lord
Forevermore

Everything medical seems to have a side effect. I hope her kidneys keep working!

Jesus I thank You that You are Anna's healer. I ask that You would continue to heal her in Jesus name. (Healer song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tayKy0GtQTg. We ask for an even increased level of Your presence in Anna's room even today. Amen.
ReplyDeleteContinually praying for your family. It amazes me how God has used you to bring so many together in prayer and expectation. What a blessing to be a part of this family of God. Thinking of you guys, praying for you, and hoping!
ReplyDeleteGod is blessing you all.
ReplyDeletelove and hope, Kitty
Though I've never met your precious family, you are in my every other thought, and continually lifted up in our family's prayers. Your strength, courage, and faith...as well as your vulnerability, honesty, and hope - are all so admirable & inspiring. Especially as you are both so authentic and articulate in sharing this difficult experience on your blog. There are so many of us out here that would love to hug you so sincerely and help you in any way we could - you are so very loved. May God continue to strengthen you and embrace you in His loving arms. We continue to pray for Anna Joy and God's healing touch on her precious little body.
ReplyDeleteIf there's one thing I've learned in the past 17 months, it is that God DOES move. Sometimes it is visible, and sometimes in my confusion he just whispers, "I'm here... breathe... trust me... I love you."
ReplyDeletePraying you feel God's loving arms around you both as well as baby Anna and her sweet big brother, and that you can hear his loving whisper to you through this all.
Although I don't know your family personally, I have been following your story since a few days before Anna was born when a friend shared it on facebook. You are such an amazing and strong family. I have passed your story on for all my friends and family to pray for you guys and little Anna Joy! I have and will continue to pray for your family every day!
ReplyDeleteI also don't know you or your family but found the prayer request on a friends Facebook post. I couldn't sleep one night after a call from my work (I am a nurse and am on call 24with hours a day). Well I stayed up and read all the posts looked at the pictures and was emotional over all of this. I can only relate in the sense that I had a premature baby born that was in the NICU. I can also relate in that I know and trust God has a plan for you and little Anna Joy. May you and your family feel the warmth and strength He gives to you. Your story consumes my thoughts often and your willingness to share such an emotional time with all you'll us is amazing
