uhhh...

So, remember how I (yes, this is Matt writing again...) said we hadn't made it to the news yet? Well, that is about to change. We were just interviewed by a reporter from King 5 News in Seattle. Unless there is a major news break tonight, we will have our interview ran on tonight's news at 10 and 11. It will also be posted on King 5's website, so if you're not local (and you really care...) you can view it there. We'll keep you posted if the dates change.

Yes, you heard me correctly. Or should I say you read correctly? Well, either way, you got it right. We will be on the local news. Wow! God is trying to make Himself known, isn't He?

May God recieve any glory. And may His love and peace surround any and all who hear our story.

  5. I am blessed by little Anna Joy already, from the opposite coast. Thank you for sharing your story. I am almost positive that you must have run across Angie Smith's blog (http://angiesmithonline.com/) or her book I Will Carry You about her daughter Audrey; but I wanted to share just in case you hadn't. It might be an encouragement to you, from someone who has lived an experience similar to yours with faith and grace. Lifting you up in prayer, and will continue to read.

  6. I just saw your story on the news. My son is 2 years old and was born undiagnosed with a rare combination of 4 defects. He has had 2 of the 3 surgeries Anna will have. His first surg was done at Seattle Childrens. His second was at Mary Bridge in Tacoma. He is doing so well right now! His story is on a few blogs...tiernansheart.blogspot.com and tiernanstube.blogspot. There are also links to my original caring bridge blog. I will be praying for you all as you begin this journey with your sweet girl.

  7. Another beautiful song, written by the father of a heart baby: "All of Me" by Matt Hammitt. It expressed my feelings exactly when our son was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. You will be in my hearts and prayers this week.

  8. Wow. I saw the link on King 5 this morning. Please know, that you are being held and covered in prayer. Our God is sovereign and powerful. As you know, He is the miracle worker and great physician. Our first born son, Spencer, just turned 9 months old yesterday. He was born with a severe rare heart defect that wasn't discovered until he was 8 weeks old. He has already endured one open heart surgery, and will need no less than three during his lifetime. Just know the people at Children's are outstanding. We're frequent flyers there! The cardiology team is amazing. We will be holding you all in prayer. God bless you, little Anna.

  9. A good friend had a miracle baby at UW hospital after not being given good odds and the option of abortion. Thatcher is now two, and a happy, healthy boy. Not attempting to give false hopes, but miracles do happen :) I will be praying for your family!!

  14. I saw your story on King5. I too have child that was born at UWMC and upon birth was transported to SCH. My son was diagnosed and born with a rare Right-sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, CDH. Like you, we had no idea why God had chosen this path for us. His odds for survival were minimal as well. The word of Jacob's condition spread through family, friends, Facebook, and many other avenues and prayer came flooding in. The power of prayer has been apparent a million times over in Jacob's short life! Today, after 42 days at Seattle Children's and two surgeries, Jacob is hopefully on the road to recovery (knock on wood).
This journey has been a roller coaster, but we have realized that this path was paved before us to bring our relationship with God, our marriage, family, and friends to a higher place. We have been living one day at a time and enjoying every minute with Jacob as we are blessed with his life.

Whatever God has in store for Anna, embrace it fully, share this miracle with others. I'm sharing it with everyone I know and support Jacob, in hopes that the prayers that have graced Jacob with his health, and guided the hands of his surgeons will be upon Anna. You are in the best of hands with the UWMC & SCH staff, they are clay in molding God's amazing miracles. Many blessing and prayers to you, Matt, and Anna Joy.

  15. Over the past few days you've been on our hearts so often. Yesterday, I came across some notes that Ryan had written for one of his classes at school - it was about Advent and preparing our hearts for the coming of Christ. It got me thinking about Simeon and Anna in the temple, fasting and praying - knowing that they would behold the Messiah.

Anna Joy has been used in a tremendous way to prepare all of us to see Christ in her life. We don't know if that will be through miraculous healing or through the incredible testimony of God's grace as you walk through life's challenges. But our hearts are open, and we are ready and expectant to see Him. What a beautiful girl, and what a perfect season to be born.

    With love,
    Angie
